New life will replace longtime Buffalo eyesore

Posted

New development is poised to replace decades of decline at a busy intersection in North Buffalo.

Uniland Development is in the process of redeveloping 20 acres of land at the highly visible corner of Hertel and Elmwood Avenues.

The area, which is now largely made up of vacant lots and former industrial space just southeast of Home Depot, is being eyed for a mix of retail, residential, office and industrial development.

A Uniland-controlled limited liability company is partnering with a local private equity firm to purchase the properties from Frank Deni and his family.

Uniland is in talks with potential tenants for the project, the company said.
