The Thruway Authority is expanding to add a new lane on I-90 East between Rt. 33 and Cleveland Drive.

Senator Tim Kennedy is asking residents to attend a public hearing on Thursday from 4-9p.m. at the Cleveland Hill Fire Hall to discuss the changes.

He says in addition to the auxiliary lane, the Thruway Authority is considering adding noise barriers on both the east and west sides of the Thruway between that same stretch.

The lane will be built to ease congestion, but Senator Kennedy says the noise barriers are up the community. Neighbors must come together to voice their support.

“I urge residents in the neighborhood to attend this informational meeting, speak with Thruway Authority staff, and voice their opinion. As with all infrastructure projects, it is vital that the local community that will be most-impacted be given the opportunity to weigh in. I hope that local residents will do exactly that,” he said.
