With record travel expected this 4th of July holiday, New York Senior Senator Charles Schumer is calling for  an expansion of the Nexus program to Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Senator Schumer is urging U.S. Customers and Border Protection to work with the Canada Border Services Agency to approve the additional Nexus enrollment center site.

The senator says this expansion would make it uch easier for residents of Western New York to take advantage of the Nexus and Global Entry programs, which provide expedited security screening for low-risk, pre-screened travelers to cross back and forth from Canada.

Schumer also says Nexus is a more affordable option for travelers. A Nexus card enrollment is only $50, which is nearly half the cost of both TSA Pre-check and Global Entry.
