New face for favorite Williamsville Park

The next time you pay a visit to Glen Park in the heart of the Village of Williamsville you can walk through their new Main Street Entrance.

Glen Park is jointly owned by the Village of Williamsville and the Town of Amherst.

Access to the park from Main Street has always been available, but was poorly defined and went unnoticed by visitors and residents, until now.

"Tying Glen Park to Main Street capitalizes on a Village asset by showcasing one of our many parks on our main thoroughfare as well as advertising the access point for visitors and residents alike," says Village of Williamsville Mayor Brian Kulpa.

The new masonry archway and signage was designed in keeping with the character of other historic markers and signage in the village.

The $20,000 grant from the New York Department of State to pay for the project was secured by Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,I-Amherst).

"Glen Park is a local treasure and the center piece of the Village of Williamsville. I'm glad I was able to re-direct state funds towards this worthy project," said Assemblyman Ray Walter (R,C,IAmherst). "This beautiful new entrance way will welcome visitors to our wonderful park for years to come."
