Since the bills got the off the field after beating the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, crews have been hard at work to get ready for the the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Hockey Championship.

The U.S. and Canada game will be the first outdoor game in tournament history.

The teams will face off in the preliminary game next Friday at 3 p.m.

The 20,000 square foot set-up is expected to be done by the end of the weekend.

Donald Mosher, known by the nickname of Scooter, is the Senior Director of Technical at Ice Rinks Events.

Mosher actually helped install the rink for the NHL Winter Class held at Ralph Wilson Stadium ten years ago.

"Last time it was a great game and the atmosphere was great the people were great," he said.

This is the second time Buffalo has hosted the tournament. The last time was in 2011.

Over 35,000 tickets have been sold for this game.

Fans will have a chance for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to skate on the outdoor ice at New Era Field.
