Students all over Western New York are gearing up to head back to school; and a new college preparatory academy is opening its doors to its first class of students.
Persistence Prep is welcoming more than 100 kindergarten and first grade students, and more than 300 fifth grade students on Wednesday.
The tuition-free SUNY Charter school is located on Michigan Avenue. It hopes to have students enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade by 2026.
