A new upscale hotel option is on it's way to Amherst. Construction of the new Reikart House hotel is moving ahead on the site of the former Lord Amherst Motor Lodge on Main Street. 7 Eyewitness News was given a hard hat tour on Monday.
A complete renovation of the interior of the hotel is currently being worked on. Once finished the hotel will boast nearly one hundred rooms.
The Reikart House is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2017.
