An Ohio school bus driver was attacked at the start of her shift by a man who was apparently hiding in the back of her bus overnight.

At about 7:30 a.m. Friday, the driver started her route and that's when a man approached her from the back of the bus, stabbed her and sexually assaulted her before running away, according to WCMH-TV. The attack happened on board a Hilliard City Schools bus — a public school district near Columbus, Ohio.

Police told WCMH the suspect apparently broke into the bus overnight Thursday and waited there until the driver started her shift on Friday. Police don't suspect the victim was specifically targeted because the bus was not her usual one.

The driver was treated at a nearby hospital for injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
