PITTSBURGH, Penn. – Ryan Reynolds helped an 84-year-old woman celebrate her “first legal drink.”

In an advertisement for Aviation Gin, Reynolds explained that Arlene Manko of Pittsburgh was born Feb. 29, 1936, a Leap Day. That means she has a birthday once every four years.

“I was technically 5 years old when I got married,” joked Manko.

This year, Manko turned 21, the legal drinking age in the United States.

“30,679 days I’ve waited to turn 21,” said Manko. “I had seven kids in 10 years. Do you think sometimes I didn’t want a drink?”

Despite her resolve to follow the rules, Manko said in the ad that she’s “no angel” and that she’s “ready to party.”

It’s safe to say Manko enjoyed her “first legal drink.”

“Holy Moses,” she said in amazement after taking a sip.

Aviation Gin says it’s honoring anyone else born on Feb. 29, 1936, “who has patiently waited all these years to finally ring in their 21st birthday.” Those of legal leap year drinking age can email Ryan@aviationgin.com for a gift card to an online spirits retailer, the company said in a release.
