The raccoon may have won a battle, but he lost the war.

Jack Gangwish, 21, a University of Nebraska football player was attacked by a raccoon on Wednesday after he reportedly tried to take a selfie with the animal.

Gangwish tweeted a photo of a bite wound with the comment, "Guys... I got bit by a raccoon...It just looked so soft and friendly I couldn't help it!" He told a reporter from the Lincoln Journal Star that he killed the raccoon with a wrench after it bit him.
