The New York Times reported on Tuesday evening that a memo written by then FBI Director James Comey said President Donald Trump asked for the FBI to end an ongoing investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
The conversation was reportedly in February in the Oval Office.
Flynn was ousted as National Security Adviser just weeks into Trump's presidency after it was revealed that Flynn discussed sanctions with Russia.
The Times' report comes one day after another report showed that Trump disclosed secret information to Russia.
“I hope you can let this go,” the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo.
Comey was fired by Trump last week.
The White House has denied the Times' report.
