Disturbing details have been released in the case of an Arizona mother who is facing a murder charge after her 3-month-old daughter was found unresponsive in a bathtub.

According to police, on September 17th around 2:40 p.m. medical crews were called to a home in Prescott Valley after reports of a baby who was found unresponsive in a bathtub. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on the girl while medical crews arrived; the child was taken to a Phoenix hospital but died a few days later.

In their investigation, police learned the child's mother, 29-year-old Angela Clark, had sex with her ex and left her daughter in a bathtub with running water.

Phone records show that the woman sent her ex a text message that said, "I tried putting the baby asleep in laundry room idk if she will fall asleep tho...i'll let her play in tub with water running with drain open."

Other messages show the woman said the baby was crying and she was worried she wouldn't fall asleep by the time her ex arrived to her home for the pair to have sex.

The woman told police the baby was upset and would not take a nap, so she placed the baby in the bathtub with water running. She said she had placed a towel under the baby's head to keep her elevated, but kept the drain open.

Police say the woman's ex went to the woman's home and they engaged in sexual intercourse in a bedroom of the house. The man saw Clark put the baby in the bathroom. After having sex, the man saw water overflowing from the bathtub and noticed that the hallway had puddles. He went into the bathroom and saw the child was face down in the tub. He then began CPR on the child.

Police confronted the woman with the man's information and Clark admitted to them she had arranged to meet up with her ex to engage in sexual intercourse, according to paperwork.

Clark's other daughter, a 15-month-old girl, was also at the home at the time of the incident.

Clark was arrested for 2nd degree murder. Officials believe the girl was left in the tub without any supervision for over 25 minutes.
