The Islamic State is notorious for taking hostages.

Now the tables have turned. Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's wife and child have been captured by the Lebanese army, Reuters reports. Reports of the child's gender were conflicting.

The arrest is expected to put pressure on ISIS to release nearly 30 Lebanese hostages.

CNN reports that the capture of al-Baghdadi's wife, herself a powerful figure in ISIS, was part of a "planned operation" at the border of Syria and Lebanon. The arrest may have occurred up to 10 days ago but information wasn't released until Tuesday.

The woman is being interrogated, CBS news reports.
