ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM/WKBW) — An individual in Monroe County has tested positive for COVID-19, or the coronavirus, according to a statement from the Monroe County Executive's office.
The statement states that the person had traveled to a high risk area, and is not a result of a local transmission. The individual is in "involuntary isolation at home and is recovering nicely."
"The risk of infection remains low in Monroe County," according to the statement.
WHAM reports that officials made the announcement late Wednesday night and more information is expected to be released Thursday morning.
