Days after the body of missing 64-year-old Rudy Ray Rockett Sr. was recovered in East Otto, Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies tell 7 Eyewitness News his death is being treated as a homicide.

Rockett Sr. was last seen in the Ransomville area of Niagara County on April 29th.

The body was found by Cattaraugus and Erie County Sheriffs K9's.

The Niagara County Sheriffs responded to process the crime scene.

Rockett was last seen by his stepson, Gregory Roy when he was supposed to be taken to the airport for a flight out of Buffalo. He never made that flight.

Roy was taken into custody days later on a weapons charge.

Rockett's biological son, Rudy Ray Rockett Jr. tells 7 Eyewitness News Roy became a suspect in the case when a bloody ring and a cryptic note were found in his bedroom. There was also a substantial amount of blood found in Roy's car, according to Rockett Jr.

Niagara County DA says no new charges have been filed at this time.
