Town of Hamburg Police have lifted a shelter in place alert on Tuesday for residents in the area after a search for 'possibly armed and dangerous' individuals.
As of Tuesday evening, Hamburg Police report they are ending the police operation in the area of Lake Avenue and Abbott Road and there is no concern of any immediate danger to the area.
Several police agencies had a heavy police presence with officers on foot and in helicopters looking for four subjects which ran from them in the area of South Park/Route 179/Abbott Road/ Willet Road.
Police report the suspects are two Hispanic males and two black males.
Police tell our 7 Eyewitness News crew that this incident originated after gunshots were fired on Center Street in Lackawanna. The investigation into that incident is continuing.
The City of Lackawanna also issued a 'Code Red' alert for the same search.
