Mulberry will not open second location in Snyder

A popular Lackawanna Italian restaurant will not open a second location in Snyder after all.

The co-owner of Mulberry Italian Restaurante, Joe Jerge, announced in August he was looking to take over the Squire on Main in Snyder.

The new location was supposed to open in September and serve the same type of food as the beloved Lackawanna location, with the addition of a mozzarella bar.

Jerge tells 7 Eyewitness News he attempted lengthy negotiations with the space's leaseholder but was not able to reach an agreement.

Jerge says he is "very disappointed" but he is not looking at any other locations at this time.
