On August 23, Celena Hunley, also known as Ms. Goodies, spent most of the night that she would have spent in bed at her restaurant. She was there to assess the damage done by an SUV that drove through the corner of the Bailey Avenue eatery.

About 12 hours later, Hunley and her family stood outside the restaurant again as the initial repairs began. As they watched, customers and community members alike stopped by to offer their sympathies and ask how they could help out.

Hunley, the owner and cook, said she was receiving countless calls as well.

"My phone's been ringing every 15 minutes," Hunley said. "Just a lot of people calling and checking on me, seeing if everybody's okay."

There were no injuries reported in the incident, and Hunley said it looks a long road ahead. But her uncle said he has faith that the community will pitch in and help rebuild one of their favorite restaurants.

"Got a good clientele," Hunley's uncle Carl said. "I really believe in the community, that they'll come out and support in any way they can."
