Starting next month there will be some changes to New York's "Move Over Law".
Right now you're required to change lanes and slow down when you're approaching a parked or stopped emergency vehicle that's flashing lights.
Now the law has been expanded to included garbage and recycling vehicles.
The change comes after a garbage collector downstate was hit and killed on the side of the road last year.
A violation of the "Move Over Law" is considered a moving violation and a driver could be fined up to $400 for multiple offenses and three points on their driving record.
