A motorcyclist is now facing charges, after police say he flipped over while doing a "wheelie" in Springville.
Investigators say the driver, Colin Slager, was driving on Rt. 219 near Genesee street at about 8:45 on Friday night. A deputy saw Slager biking on the double yellow line, passing cars.
He slowed down as he came to an intersection, but when the deputy flashed his emergency lights, Slager panicked and accelerated, police explain. This caused the bike to "wheelie." Slager lost control, and the bike flipped over.
Responders say they brought him to Erie County Medical Center to treat possible back injuries. Slager has since left the hospital, but police charged him with traffic violations, and possession of marijuana.
