A mother convicted of possessing almost 1,000 bags of heroin inside her West Side home has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Last month, authorities executed a search warrant at the home of 40-year-old Erika Brown and her son, 22-year-old Erik Arias. Prosecutors say police found more than 970 bags of heroin in the house.

Sentencing for Brown’s son, Erik, was postponed until July 6 after prosecutors say he was involved in a fight while in custody. He is now facing additional charges.
