Friends and family gathered near the scene of a fatal hit and run to remember 40-year-old Ramona Sanders. The mother of six died Thursday night after police say a driver hit her near East Ferry Street and Donovan Drive on Buffalo's east side.

The group gathered for a tearful prayer vigil in memory of Sanders. Her uncle, Eddie Steel, wants Ramona to be remembered for all she accomplished in her life.

"Celebrate the time she was living," he said. "That she was a good mother. That's basically all you can do because once you're gone, you're gone."

Several friends and loved ones made pleas to the driver, asking him or her to come forward. Police have released a photo of a possible suspect car. It is a light colored, four door minivan or crossover SUV according to police.

No arrests have been made in this case.
