The Erie County Sheriff's Office has seized more than $75,000 in illegal fireworks.
An anonymous tip led detectives to a storage unit at 1545 William Street in Buffalo. That's where members of the sheriff's bomb squad and SWAT team discovered a large amount of arsenal occupying two separate storage units.
A 55-year-old man was arrested on felony charges.
While most fireworks are illegal in New York State, a recent law has cleared the way for counties and cities outside New York City to legally sell sparklers to anyone 18 years of age or older.
