Say goodbye to microbeads in hygiene products for good.

President Barack Obama signed a bill into law on Wednesday banning microbeads in the United States.

The small, plastic particles are designed to be washed down drains, but because they are made of plastic, they do not dissolve.

The bill is intended to protect the nation's waterways.

The Erie County Legislature signed a ban on microbeads earlier this year.
