A memorial fund has been set up in honor of a woman who was shot and killed in a hunting accident.

The Rosemary "Rosie" Billquist Memorial Fund will provide financial support to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, Chautauqua County Humane Society and Southern Tier Kidney Association.

Billquist was shot while walking her dogs in November in the Town of Sherman by a hunter who told investigators he mistook the 43-year-old woman for a deer.

The hunter, 34-year-old Thomas Jadlowski, turned himself in a week after the accidental shooting to face charges of second-degree manslaughter and hunting after hours.
