It was a "frustrating" weekend for the staff at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Buffalo. Park staff took to Facebook to show the mess left behind after Memorial Day activities.
Pictures posted showed trash thrown throughout the park, and the damage left behind after a car apparently ran into a flower bed. "The level of vandalism and trashing of this beautiful park was beyond imaginable this weekend," said one of the posts from staff on the park Facebook page.
A Buffalo Police spokesperson told 7EWN that cleanup crews visit the park every morning. Trash in the pictures was likely left behind the night before.
Posts on the Facebook page say that the trash has become an ongoing problem. The Buffalo Police spokesperson says that an increase in patrols near the park is being considered. Further specifics remain unclear.
