Meals on Wheels for WNY has decided it will deliver on Friday in spite of the expected extremely cold weather and wind chill. Besides delivering daily and weekend food, hundreds of volunteers will be checking on clients to make sure they are not struggling with the dangerous low temperatures.
Volunteers who don't think they will be able deliver in the bitter cold are asked to call their site managers so other arrangements can be made.
Non-volunteers who would like to help on Friday are welcome and can call (716) 822-2002 ext. 20 to sign up.
7 Eyewitness News Reporter Ed Reilly talked with 18-year Meals on Wheels volunteer Judy Marine, who is nearly 80, about how she plans to brave the extreme cold to help the elderly and sick with food and a safety check.
