Mayor Declares World Refugee Day in Buffalo

Mayor Byron Brown issued a proclamation, officially declaring Saturday, May 28, 2016 as World Refugee Day in Buffalo.

World Refugee Day honors the courage, strength, and determination of women, men and children who are forced to leave their homeland under threat of persecution, conflict & violence.

This local event celebrates refugees living in the area and the diversity of cultures and experiences they bring to the WNY community.

The event took place at the J.H. Williams Soccer Field on Vulcan Street.
