Mayor Byron Brown is taking up the immigration issue with more than a dozen other mayors in New York City Monday.
At the meeting, he's expected to talk about how large Buffalo's foreign born population has grown.
Part of Mayor Brown's proposed budget for next year is to create an Office of New Americans to help the transition into life in Buffalo.
The mayors will share ways to get support from the government to help the immigrant communities.
