This holiday weekend honors a civil rights pioneer, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A church service was held in his honor Sunday at St. Martin's Church of Northampton Street in the Queen City. Bishop Martin Holley, who is an Auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., was the main celebrant.
A reception was held after mass.
All proceeds from the event go to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. scholarship fund.
