Legalized recreational marijuana in New York State is a budding issue.  On Wednesday evening, around 250 people--both for and against-- came to the Holiday Inn next to the airport to speak their minds on the matter.

Dozens upon dozens of people talked about their opinions in the forum. This session is one of seventeen being held across the state and is being led by Governor Cuomo's office in an effort to collect public input on legalization.  The hope is to use the input when drafting adult-use marijuana legislation.

It was back in January that the Department of Health led a study commissioned by Governor Cuomo to "assess the impact of a regulated marijuana program."

There are still a few listening session left across the state.
