For 150 children on Buffalo’s east side, it’s a Christmas Eve they will never forget.
It was an evening to dance, eat, and of course open a few presents but it was also a chance for 6’3" tall, 331 pound all pro defensive tackle Marcell Dareus to give back.
“I remember coming to things like this and meeting Santa,” Dareus told 7 Eyewitness News. “I was in these kids’ shoes and it just feels crazy to be on the opposite end.”
The athlete may be on the opposite end, but he continues to look back, striving to help those who may be a little down on their luck this holiday season.
“I just can’t forget about the fans here in Buffalo that really support me” Dareus said. “I really just want to give back to the community and just kind of give my Christmas Eve to them.”
