Jamestown Police say a man attempted to run away after being stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
After a short chase officers arrested Kori Robinson, 19, of Buffalo and found he had a loaded handgun that he discarded during the chase.
Officers found a loaded 9 mm handgun which was reported stolen from a burglary in Jamestown in October.
Officials say Robinson is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration, and several vehicle and traffic violations.
Robinson is being held in the city jail awaiting arraignment.
