A West Seneca man will spend ten years in jail for having sexual contact with an underage girl.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced Monday that 33-year-old David Moretto was sentenced to the prison time followed by 20 years of post-release supervision.

Moretto was arrested in March 2017 for engaging in sexual acts with the girl over the course of two years.

In February, Moretto pleaded guilty to one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree.

Erie County Court Judge Sheila DiTullio heard the case.

Judge DiTullio, after hearing from both the victim and the defendant, stated, “The criminal justice system will always respond strongly, firmly and swiftly to adults like you that sexually abuse children. This case demands and cries out for justice for a kid, for all kids, and this Court will clearly respond since you are vicious and violent, you’re clearly, Mr. Moretto, a pedophile, you’re not a veteran. You’re a pedophile.”
