A 52-year old Buffalo man will face between two and four years in prison for financially exploiting a 77-year old woman.

Kevin Andrews was convicted of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.

Between September 2014 and June 2015, Kevin Andrews falsely portrayed himself as a disabled police officer, claiming that his son and wife were facing life-threatening medical issues.

Andrews managed to persuade the senior citizen to "loan" him thousands of dollars, which were never paid back.

The elderly victim ultimately depleted her entire life savings.

As part of sentencing, State Supreme Court Justice Penny Wolfgang has ordered Andrews to pay $21,980 in restitution to the victim.

In a statement, Acting District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty wrote "This case illustrates both the vulnerability of our senior citizens and the despicable lows to which some members of our society will stoop in order to take advantage of our elderly."
