Man pulls gun on officers in Colden

The Erie County Sheriff's Office says a standoff between a 50 year-old man and deputies ended peacefully after about an hour of negotiations in Colden.

According to the sheriff's office, the man hit multiple mailboxes in the area of Ridge Trail, near Rt. 240 around 1:30 Thursday afternoon.

Police were called because of the mailbox incident, and when the found the man in his home, he pulled a gun out of his waistband and retreated back into the house.

Police were able to make contact with the man over the phone, and after about an hour the standoff ended. No one was hurt.

The man is facing charges related to the hit-and-run with the mailboxes. Police say they are still investigating the gun incident.
