The Erie County DA announced Scott Schaefer, 44 of Getzville has pleaded guilty to disseminating indecent material to minors in the second degree.
Schaefer, a former science teacher at St. Gregory the Great School in Williamsville admitted to sending sexually explicit texts to a 12-year-old this past June. The school immediately terminated Schaefer.
He faces up to 4 years in prison.
Officials say he will not have to register as a sex offender.
