A 62-year-old man is dead following a three-car crash in Allegany County, one of four deadly crashes across WNY that took place on Tuesday.

State Police say Eric Hanson of LeRoy was driving south on Rt. 19 when he entered the northbound lane, sideswiping a vehicle. He continued south and crossed the center line, hitting a pickup truck head-on.

Hanson was flown to Jones Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the sideswiped vehicle was unhurt while the driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

This is one of four deadly accidents in WNY on Tuesday.

The first happened around 2pm in Pendleton. Deputies say 61-year-old Kevin Taylor failed to negotiate a curve and plowed through an empty warehouse. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thirty minutes later in Cheektowaga, a 70-year-old woman collided with another vehicle on Losson Road. The woman, Joan Giangreco, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A few hours after that, 32-year-old Charles Reno of Basom was killed in a crash at Rt. 5 and Barnum Road in Newstead.
