Man in critical condition following shooting outside Ellicottville bar

A man is in critical condition following a shooting outside of an Ellicottville bar Saturday night.

According to New York State Police, Troopers responded to The Gin Mill at 20 Washington Street for a possible shooting around 9:30 p.m.

State police investigation revealed 25-year-old Damien M. Marvin, of Salamanca, had an altercation in the bar with a 41-year-old male which continued outside the bar.

While Marvin and the male were outside, Marvin allegedly fired one round into the abdomen area of the 41-year-old male with a legally possessed Glock.

Marvin remained on scene and surrendered to Troopers without incident.

The 41-year-old male was taken to ECMC where he is in critical condition.

Marvin was arraigned and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $50,000/100,000 bail, he faces felony first degree assault charges.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Ellicottville Police Department, NYSP Major Crimes, and Forensic Investigation Unit assisted in the investigation which is ongoing at this time.
