A North Tonawanda man has been rescued after police say he was found surviving in the woods, without food or water for 11 days.

Police say 65-year-old John Tylock went missing from his North Tonawanda home on July 29. His wife said he went out for a walk and never returned.

Using Border Patrol helicopters, Niagara County Sheriff's Office K9s and foot searches, police were unable to locate Tylock.

Tuesday, around 11:30 a.m. police conducted another foot search where volunteers were able to locate Tylock in a wooded area North of Alice Street and East of Nash Road. Police say he was disoriented when he was found, was covered in bug bites and was famished.

North Tonawanda Police Lieutenant Karen Smith says its a "miracle" Tylock was found alive.
