A Silver Springs man is facing child pornography charges and could receive a mandatory sentence of five to 20 years in prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Mango says, according to the complaint, Ronald Caryl, 24, began communicating with a 23-year-old woman from Nashville on MeetMe.com on February 14. While talking online, the two began to talk about Caryl giving the woman $300 to have sex with her.
According to Mango, the woman wrote, "just $300 and u do what u want to me," to which Caryl replied, "do you have a young girl who could join I'll pay more...you into young girls?"
The woman then responded, "as long as they r 18 and older," and Caryl said, "Ya i meant younger I'll pay 6000," according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The woman then said, "I can't put things in her mouth she gets sick she's disabled."
According to Mango, Caryl went on to say, "show me your daughter" and then the woman allegedly sent a picture of her one-year-old daughter to him, prompting him to continually press her for naked pictures of her daughter.
A MeetMe.com staff saw the possible endangerment of a minor and illegal content and notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The NCMEC then notified the FBI on February 24 and traced the IP address to Caryl who was arrested that morning.
Caryl's is being held until his detention hearing on Thursday.
