The Erie County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to capture a man who escaped from custody.
Thomas Walsh, 29 of Buffalo, escaped from the Buffalo City Court lockup sally port after his arraignment on Tuesday afternoon. 7 Eyewitness News was told that Walsh was awaiting transport by the sheriff's office.
Walsh is wanted for several charges, including petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, and has prior violent crimes in his past, including a 2008 arrest for allegedly shaking his 3-month-old baby, causing serious injuries. Officials say he should be considered armed and dangerous and the public should not approach him.
