The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office is reminding motorists to be vigilant of Amish buggies after an accident Thursday evening claimed a man's life.
Deputies say a woman was driving just before 5 p.m. on Weeks Road in the Town of Harmony when she reportedly fell asleep.
Her vehicle rear-ended an Amish buggy with multiple occupants.
The buggy driver, Henry Koffman Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two young people were flown to UPMC Hamot via Star Flight, and two others were transported to the hospital via ambulance.
The Chautauqua County Accident Reconstruction team was called out to process the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
