The Town of Tonawanda Police say a man is dead after a work-related accident that happened at a FedEx freight facility Wednesday morning.
Police say 57-year-old Earl Reese was working inside a truck when a pallet tipped over onto him, pinning him. The pallet contained 1,300 pounds of merchandise.
It happened at Preston Trucking on Military Road just after 7 a.m.
Several fellow employees rushed to help but they were unable to move the pallet and a fork lift had to be used to free Reese.
Paramedics were unsuccessful in life saving efforts and Reese died at the scene.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration has been notified of the accident, and police do not suspect any foul play.
