Man arrested for not letting wife leave residence in Lewiston

On Thursday Troopers arrested Michael Greaser, 57 of Lewiston stemming from an incident just before noon. 

Greaser was involved in a domestic with his wife at his residence on Saunders Settlement Road in the Town of Lewiston. 

According to authorities, he threatened to kill his wife and himself while displaying a long gun. Greaser also kept his wife from leaving the residence.

She was able to find her way out hours later and reported the incident. 

Before troopers, deputies, and police arrived at his residence Greaser left. 

Town of Niagara Police reported a location for Greaser at a girlfriend's place on Grauer Road. 

Crews surrounded the residence and tried to contact Greaser but were unsuccessful. 

Officials placed a shelter in the surrounding area until they took Greaser into custody without incident. 

He's charged with kidnapping and menacing in the second degree. 

Greaser has been arraigned and is now in Niagara County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
