An Amherst man has admitted to setting fire to an Allentown apartment building.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says 29-year-old Brandon Adler pleaded guilty to Arson in the Fourth Degree in connection to the fire that broke out at 486 Franklin Street last July.

Five people were able to escape the building unharmed, but Buffalo firefighters had to rescue two others from a second floor window.

The fire severely damaged the second floor and roof of the apartment building. The entire building sustained water damage. Due to the amount of damage, all residents of the building were displaced.

Adler faces a maximum of 4 years in prison when he is sentenced in May.
