Will the 2016 Gus Macker be a slam dunk?
Organizers have begun planing a jam-packed weekend for when the 3-on-3 tournament returns to Grand Island this summer.
This will only be the tournament's second year on Grand Island. Organizers have said they already want to build on last year's success.
This will be the Gus Maker Basketball Tournament's 25th year in western New York. It was held in the City of Buffalo for many years before Grand Island.
About 500 people participated last year.
Planners said they expect the tournament to grow in 2016, and that means they expect to be able to raise more money for charity.
There already have been some challenges. The popular tournament was supposed to be moved to Darien Lake this year. That had to change due to "timing difficulties."
