BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The average price for a gallon of gasoline in the United States is $1.86, and prices are down in Western New York as well.

Gas prices dropped to $2.31 per gallon in Buffalo, two cents lower from last week; and down to $2.31 in Batavia, a seven-cent drop from last week.

One year ago the average price for a gallon of gas both nationwide and in New York state was $2.82.

Now the average price for a gallon of gas in New York state is $2.25, down five cents from last week.
