Nearly 50 years after they shared the silver screen for their film "Love Story," actors Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal are back together.
This time, they're sharing the stage for the national tour of "Love Letters," a play by celebrated Buffalo playwright A.R. Gurney.
The show is playing at 710 Main Theatre from May 11-22.
MacGraw and O'Neal join a star-studded club of actors who have performed in this production since it first opened in 1988. The duo tells 7 Eyewitness News their strong friendship off-stage provides an added chemistry on stage.
"I love, love doing this with Ryan," MacGraw said of her co-star.
"It's just so great not to have to do that fake thing of walking around somebody."
"It's almost not fair," O'Neal jokingly added.
"Love Letters" is about a tumultuous and passionate love affair that spans 50 years. Through wars and marriages and children, the two lovers pour the secrets of their hearts to each other.
"What is more incredible than feeling in love? Nothing. There's no drug that's as good as being in love with someone," MacGraw said.
Tickets to "Love Letters" are available at ticketmaster.com or Shea's Box Office.
