Looking to Baltimore for help in diocese transparency

Michael Whalen was abused by Reverend Norbert Orsolits in 1979, and only recently came forward to talk about his abuse.

"There's people that really want to step forward and it just seems to help them" Whalen said.

An issue with victims coming forward is with the lack of transparency that many diocese have.

For the Diocese of Buffalo they do not release the names of priests who have been accused of sexual assault which the Diocese said they could look into changing. This is a stark difference to what the Diocese of Baltimore does as they have released this website detailing each priest who is accused of assault.

"I think that the priests that have been accused should be out in the public eye. I think people should know who they are and where they are" Whalen said.
